The Invasion and The Nanny Diaries
I thought The Invasion was very good, while The Nanny Diaries, starring Scarlett Johannson was a big disappointment.

Mr. Bean
Before jumping to the conclusion that Mr. Bean's Holiday is a ridiculous movie, one definitely shouldn't judge prior to purchasing a ticket.
It is quite obvious that this movie won't win the Academy Award, but it is a light-hearted movie that people of all ages will enjoy.

Chris Tucker and Jackie Chann Deliver Again
Horrible reviews didn't stop Rush Hour 3 from being the top movie at the box office. After watching the movie, I can definitely tell why people ignored the critics. If you're looking for pure entertainment, Rush Hour 3 is definitely a good movie to go see. I might go see The Invasion this weekend with Nicole Kidman. I don't expect much out of this movie, but we'll see.

Harry Potter and The Bourne Ultimatum
Harry Potter and The Bourne Ultimatum were both very good movies. It seems like the Potter movies are getting better with every movies that comes out. I haven't read any of the books, though. The Bourne Ultimatum was also the best of the series in my opinion.

Baseball Conference
I know this isn't a movie post, but it is still entertainment. If anyone is visiting New Orleans in November or lives here, The National World War II Museum is hosting a baseball conference. Tommy Lasorda is giving the keynote address. It should be a great event. For more information, on the baseball conference, click here.

Captivity and Ocean's 13
Although the reviews for Captivity were abysmal, I am a fan of Elisha Cuthbert and think she is generally a pretty good actress. Therefore, I went to see this movie Saturday morning. I should have listened to the reviews. It was really a gross movie and didn't make any sense.
Saturday night, I went to see Ocean's 13. It was nearly identical to the other Ocean's movies, but this had Al Pacino in a starring role. It was average at best.

Out of Town
I'll be out of town and will most likely miss License to Wed and Transformers. If anyone sees either of these movies, please post a comment. Have a great weekend!

Die Hard and Nancy Drew
With the summer movie season heading to the midway point, I would say the movies thus far have been somewhat of a disappointment. Although I wouldn't classify either Live Free or Die Hard or Nancy Drew typical summer blockbusters, both movies I believe should be considered two of the more entertaining movies that have come out.
On Friday, I went to see Live Free or Die Hard and I thought it was very good. Bruce Willis revived his John McClane role with the same flare as the 90's original. The actor from the Apple ("I am a Mac, I am a PC)") commercial was Willis' sidekick and did a great job.
Saturday, I went to see Nancy Drew and thought it was a lot more interesting that I expected. Julia Roberts niece stars in the movie and does a great job.

Movies From June 25
The summer movie season has been a major disappointment this year, but the movies that I saw this weekend were well worth seeing.
Friday night, I went to see Evan Almighty. Leading up to seeing this movie, I had heard that it was very expensive to make and that they were having difficulties filming. I didn't put much weight into these comments because the first movie was so great with Jim Carrey and the premise is so strong.
Anyway, I was glad that critical reviews didn't prevent me from seeing this movie. The cast was great and it was very funny to watch.
On Sunday, the weekend continued on a high note by seeing 1408, the new horror film starring John Cusack.
I went to this movie to be scared and 1408 didn't disappoint. Please post your comments if you have seen any of these movies or if you're looking forward to next week's movies.
